Brookside is a few minutes walk from Russian Gulch State Park, an overlooked treasure of the North Coast with wildflowers, headland views of Mendocino Village and a blowhole. It’s a 5 minute drive north to Point Cabrillo lighthouse, and a few more minutes to Jughandle State Park where there is excellent hiking on the headland and up the ecological staircase to the Pygmy Forest. And it’s only a few minutes more to the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens.
